How Do I Transfer My Domain to or Away From SaveMyService?

Whether you're bringing a domain to us or moving one away, domain transfers are a normal part of managing your account. Here's how each direction works.

Transferring a domain to us

  1. Contact us and let us know which domain you'd like to transfer in.

  2. We'll guide you through the transfer process step by step.

  3. A domain transfer automatically adds one year to the registration term, and the first year's transfer is $35.

Transferring a domain away from us

  1. Contact us and let us know you'd like to transfer your domain to another registrar.

  2. We'll provide you with the domain's auth/EPP key, which your new registrar will need to complete the transfer.

  3. Follow your new registrar's instructions to submit the transfer using that key.

A few things to know

  • Domain transfers can take up to 7 days to complete on either end — it's not instant.  If there are issues with the transfer, it will take longer.  We don't recommend trying to move a domain with less than 30 days until expiration.

  • If your domain is also used for email hosting with us, let us know your plans ahead of time so we can make sure your mail keeps flowing during the transfer.
