If you received a billing invoice mentioning a name like Metronet, Vexus, USFamily, NTS, or a domain like vexusfiber.net, and it caught you off guard — you’re not being scammed, and your email account is fine. This is a normal, expected part of a provider transition.
This article explains what happened and why the invoice is legitimate.
Your email account originally belonged to an internet or hosting provider that has since sold or transferred its email operations to SaveMyService Hosting. That happens with names like Metronet, Vexus, USFamily, and NTS — all previous or related brands whose email customers were moved over to us so their mailboxes could keep working.
Because the invoicing systems from that transition are still being used or referenced during the changeover, the billing name or domain on your invoice (such as vexusfiber.net) may not match “SaveMyService” right away. The charge itself is for the same thing you’ve always had: your email mailbox.
When we take over email service for a provider, we also take over billing for it, since we’re the ones now running the mail servers, keeping your mailbox online, and providing support. The standard rate for an individual mailbox is $30 per year, which covers hosting, spam filtering, and support going forward.
Your email address, password, and existing mail are not affected by this change — only who handles billing and support.
